Writing Background
Marek originally trained as a screen-writer whilst studying at the University of Denver, he later bolstered his practical understanding of film by working as a grip on a number of Vancouver-based film shoots.

After graduating in 2004 with a Masters in Creative Writing from The University of Edinburgh, Marek was immediately hired by Reflections/Atari to work on their next AAA title.

Games and Interactive Narrative
Since then, Marek has worked on a number of games titles. He was a co-writer on Driver: Parallel Lines (2006), Driver ’76 (2007) and a script editor for Let’s Make a Soccer Team (2006) and Virtua Tennis 3 (2007). Marek also worked with the BBC on their JAM Education project.

Marek has given talks on games writing and interactive narrative at conferences, universities and trade meetings in the UK, mainland Europe and Japan.

He has also assisted in a number of creative workshops for the BBC in the field of interactive media, interactive narrative, and on-line games.

TV Writing
In 2005, Marek was commissioned by BBC Scotland to deliver two scripts in their Short Stories education series.

Gaming Experience
Marek has been an avid gamer since the time Vic 20s were seen as computing powerhouses. Since then, he’s been forced to upgrade his hardware somewhat but still enjoys keeping up to date with the latest titles when time allows.

Part of his work in the company involves his keeping up to date with interactive and narrative design elements of the latest titles available. Much as Marek loves a number of recent games, he has yet to find one that impresses him more than the groundbreaking Elite (1984).

Currently
Marek recently finished work on a forthcoming 2K sports title. He is currently working on titles for Ubisoft and Now Production Co.
